I truly love the challenge each week to create using a Mojo sketch and this week is no exception.  Here's what I came up with using this week's sketch layout.

Layout Week-Day Three: Let's Go

Hello my crafty friends!
I didn't realize that I had been missing in action for this long. I haven't made a post since May. I have been busy making a mini album for my husband and I anniversary get away from last year. I really haven't been in the mood to make any cards or layouts, until today.
Kathryn with Kathryn Scraps had a week of showing a different layout a day with tutorials and techniques. It's always refreshing to watch her put together layouts. She is also having challenges on her blog! Each challenge has a different giveaway! Today is the last day to join this Challenge-Day Three. I enjoyed using the technique she used in this layout.
Here is the sketch:

Here is my take:

I had more pics of my layout but for some reason they wouldn't upload. I made myself a template using Kathryn's tutorial. To make my sun rays I sprayed water and FolkArt Acrylic paint-Moon Yellow. The paperline is Pinkpaislee Portfolio. The pic was taken when my son was about 7 or 8 months old. We were loading the car about to head to the mall. My little man was getting frustrated. He had this look on his face as if he was telling us let's just go...lol! I hope you head on over to participate.

April Build-a-Flower Challenge with Jules!

Good Afternoon Crafters!

Today I have a quick and easy scallop layered flower tutorial. Jules with The Wild Orchid Crafts Design Team is having a "Build A Flower" challenge on her blog. The challenge is to do a blog post showing pictures of a flower tutorial. Five to Eight pictures are required. The flowers must be in layers. The deadline is by midnight  May 8th. This is totally not my original idea. I have seen this tutorial many times on youtube. I would like to share how I create this type of flower my way.
Here is my tutorial...
Gather 5 scalloped circles
Punch a hole in the middle with a crop-a-dile
Secure eyelet with crop-a-dile(a brad can be added as well)
Saturate with water or glimmer mist
Scrunch the layers of circle into a ball
Slightly dry flower with heat tool
While the flower is wet, slightly open the layers
Continue drying the flower
Once dry, continue to open layers until desired look

Thanks for stopping by! Hope you enjoy!

Splash! Stash Challenge

Hi All!
Hope everyone had an awesome National Scrapbooking Day! I had a very busy day and didn't get to scrapbook at all, so I made up for it today. I decided to play along with Scrap Our Stash Challenge Blog: Stash Challenge. Creat a layout using as many items from the list of stash items provided. Using the items listed and a sketch from their link can earn extra entries into their prize drawing.
Here is the stash list:
Ribbon
Tags
Brads
Layered Stickers
Washi Tape
Twine
Paint
Wood Pieces
Bling
2 + Different Punches

Here is my layout:

I am so happy with how this layout turned out. I used 8 of the 10 items listed. The paper line and embleshments are Fancy Pants-The Good Life. I splashed paint all over my layout. I used some ribbon from my stash on the tag and to make the center flower. I used one of the layered sticker tags and frame. I put three different color Basic Grey brads by the title. I used some red and white twine I got from Target. I added a bling to center of my handmade tulle flower. I also used 2 different EK Success punches on the edges.

Here is the sketch I followed:

Wish me Good Luck! Thanks for taking the time to stop by!

Love is the Air

Happy Monday Bloggers!
I recently stumbled upon Scrappy Friends Challenge. Four young ladies create individual challenges every month. If you combine all four together, you are entered into a seperate prize. I was suppose to have upload my layout days ago, but time got away from me. This is my first time playing along and I'm so happy I did. I love using all the different challenges like this on a layout. These are a couple of engagement photos ofhubby and I(aren't we adorable...lol). Here are the challenges...

Rochelle- Color Scheme
Kery-Use hand stitching, a punch, mixed alphas
Brenda-Sketch
Kristi-Something that flies

Here is my take...

Papers I used are from American Crafts and Fancy Pants. I did some mixed media on my layout using my homemade modeling paste. I used Crafter's Workshop Reverse Chickenwire stencil. I did some random stamping using Glitz Design stamps and Momento ink. I used EK Success flower punch, did some hand stitching around the white circle, and fussy cut butterflies. This was fun and I look forward to entering more of their challenges!

Thanks for taking the time to stop by,

xoxo
